My name is Liana. During the spring of 2009, I spent the semester abroad in Hong Kong, China. I knew zero – zip – nada – Cantonese, but my classes were in English! Off campus was a little more difficult to navigate, but I wouldn’t trade my time there for the world. The experience was life-changing for me, but I didn’t realize that until I was back on campus at BGSU in the fall. Please feel free to check out my posts from Jan-May 2009. I had an amazing time traveling, and I loved documenting the experience for my friends and family at home! As my husband and I travel over the years, I hope to keep adding more and more posts about our time abroad, and I hope you enjoy reading about it.
I really don’t have any plans for this blog except to document some of the important/exciting/funny/silly/pointless things that happen in my life (and my shared life with my husband!). We’re currently living in the Cleveland area, which I personally adore, and I hate when my fellow Clevelanders knock it. There’s a lot to love here on the North Coast, if one actually leaves the house to look for it. We recently purchased a house and have (very) slowly been doing some work on it, so I will probably add some posts about all the DIY “fun” we are having.
I hope you will enjoy reading about the experiences I have – both the mundane and the amazing. And I love comments!

Nei ho Liana, (or is it Lei ho?)
I spoke with your mother last night and she forwarded your site info – AWESOME! Hey, you’re a pretty good writer.
We’re looking forward to keeping up on your postings of your international experiences. What fun… along with the work I’m sure

Hey, Liana this is so cool I cannot believe you are in Hong Kong. It is funny that your uncle Terry said you were a good writer because your uncle James just said the same thing. I know you are going to get a big kick out of this so dont laugh to hard but this is the first Email I have ever sent! How exciting for you, I am looking forward to all of your updates and pictures. I am so happy that you knew you wanted to do this trip and you did whatever you needed to do to get there, that is awsome. Oh! and by the way I do not think I could have done that bus ride,(at least not without getting sick) Have a wonderful time honey and be careful! we love you and we will check back soon for the next exciting journey.
Love, Aunt Kim and Uncle James.
Can anyone tell that knitting is her passion? When she mentioned the “yarns” were strewn with litter on her last excursion – just kidding sweetheart! Beautiful pictures! Love you!
mom
Haha thanks, Mom – yes, yarn on the brain, as always. How I get through my classes is beyond me
But I fixed the post!
Yarn, fabric – it’s all the same I suppose – I see quilt patterns in these little diagrams with these posts – makes me want to enlarge them to see if they can be duplicated. I know – I need help.
You’re right – funny stuff – glad you can laugh about it – you’ve come a long way, baby! You found Seasoned Salt – hooray!!
